About Bärbel Buyse

Bärbel Buyse: Entrepreneur. Career Change Author and Keynote Speaker.

Bärbel Buyse is an entrepreneur with more than twenty years of experience leading companies through growth, innovation and disruption. She was recognised with the WOMED Award for female entrepreneurship.

After facing her own career tipping point, she reshaped her professional path to focus on enabling career and personal growth at life’s tipping points.

With Reshape Your Career, she brings the structured thinking of business transformation to the personal journey of career change. Combining her business experience with insights from career development, she developed the Career-Crystal™ model and a practical eight-step roadmap to help professionals and entrepreneurs navigate career change.

Her central question: How do you move from one career phase to the next and shape a new career that fits who you are today and the world of tomorrow?

Through her book, keynotes and partnerships, Bärbel shares practical insights, real-life examples and structured approaches to help people rethink their professional future and explore new possibilities.

Alongside these activities, she combines strategic roles and board-level advice on business growth with her role as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Vlerick Business School.

From business growth to personal growth

The Tipping Point: Deciding for a strategic integration of the self-owned and managed business into a larger group, also meant the closing of her own career as owner-manager. Letting go of that role created an identity shift.

And it raised a fundamental question: Why are there so many frameworks for business transformation, but so few for personal career change?

From experience to framework

Rather than treating career change as an individual process, she approached it with the aim to support others in the future with a structured redesign.

Drawing on entrepreneurial practice, academic collaboration, research and real-life cases, she developed the Career-Crystal™ model and the eight-step roadmap. Today, her work focuses on bringing structured clarity to professional growth.
